Vegetation Fire and Smoke Pollution Warning and Advisory System (VFSP-WAS): Concept Note and Expert Recommendations

This analytical report presents the conclusions of a three-day workshop focusing on Vegetation Fire and Smoke Pollution Warning and Advisory System (VFSP-WAS) in South Asia. It presents key expert group recommendations on tools for forecasting vegetation fire smoke emissions, smoke transport, related air quality changes and impact on human health. It also explores the feasibility of setting up Regional Facilities that can assist WMO Members in the region.
