This guidance document aims to support REDD+ planning in Mesoamerican countries (Costa Rica, Guatemala, Honduras, Mexico, Nicaragua and Panama) through the development of tenure of indigenous peoples territories. It explains the framework for understanding the processes to recognize rights of tenure over land and natural resources of indigenous populations in the context of climate change mitigation.
