Population and Climate Change: UNFPA Statement

This document discusses the linkage between climate change, environmental concerns and population dynamics. Reduced to essentials, climate change is ultimately produced by the pressures placed on the Earth’s ecosystem by humankind’s development efforts, especially over the last half-century. This note focuses on the contribution of a population-based development agency to better understanding and more effective responses to the threat of climate change.
