This report showcases FAO’s strategy includes an analysis of the current environmental performance of the Organization in the areas of Greenhouse Gas Emissions, energy efficiency, sustainable procurement, waste management and water usage. As part of the 2030 Agenda and in line with the Sustainable Development Goals, FAO is committing to 1) Continue monitoring the environmental impact of its functional operations, 2) Improve its ecological performance and reduce its GHG emissions by 5.4%, 3) Embrace the circular economy principle when procuring goods and services and managing waste, and 4) Develop Environmental Management Systems for Offices.
