This guidance document explores the possible contribution of nuclear energy to addressing the issues of sustainable development through a large selection of indicators. The document reviews the characteristics of nuclear power in comparison with alternative sources of electricity supply, according to economic, social and environmental pillars of sustainability. The findings suggest the contribution that can be made by the development and operation of nuclear power plants in contributing to more sustainable energy systems.

This flyer presents the Online Solution for Carbon Analysis and Reporting (OSCAR) for the postal industry, which is the latest tool offered, free of charge, by UPU to its 192 members. This document presents that smallholders are both dependent on agriculture and contributors to related emissions, but they also hold the key to reducing these emissions if supported through innovative and holistic programming. 

This guidance document presents that climate change disproportionally affects the poorest and most marginalized communities living in vulnerable regions, among them indigenous peoples, whose livelihoods depend on natural resources. While Indigenous peoples are generally depicted as victims of poverty and vulnerability to climate change, the document suggests that it would also be appropriate to emphasize their sensitivity to the environment, adaptive capacity and resilience, as manifested by their ability to modify their behaviour in response to changing climatic conditions.
