This report highlights the need of new ways to manage competing demands on freshwater resources, in the face of increasing environmental degradation and the multi-faceted impacts of climate change.  At the same time, the global water cycle is intensifying due to climate change, with wetter regions generally becoming wetter and drier regions becoming even drier.
