This policy document shows the conceptualization of a Nationally Appropriate Mitigation Action (NAMA) in Moldova in the field of degraded land, riverside areas and protection belts. It proposes incentives and strategic framework to reverse the trend of forest degradation so as to strengthen capacities of local communities to afforest degraded land.  After reviewing Moldovan forestry sector, different scenarios are analysed, taking account of several co-benefits as well as barriers and risks.
