This mini e-course aims to increase the involvement of climate experts from developing countries in the IPCC reports. The course enables first-time reviewers and early career climate experts to understand how the IPCC works and how to contribute to its draft reports by providing review comments on chapters. It is particularly important that reviewers from developing countries with much regional and local knowledge bring their expertise into the IPCC assessments, in order to keep a balance of scientific input from all regions of the world.
The full course has been targeted at the review period of the First Order Draft of the Working Group II report on Climate Change Impacts, Adaptation and Vulnerability, 18-October -13 December 2019, and consisted of two Webinars and a personal coaching part. Although this review period has ended, the webinars still provide a good background for reviewing future draft IPCC reports. The course includes two webinars of short videos of 5-10 minutes, each focusing on a different topic. Users have the possibility to freely watch any video, depending on their interests, and to download the full presentation in PDF. This course does not have a learning assessment therefore no certificate of completion will be issued.
