“After completing the UN CC:Learn courses, I applied my knowledge to support SDG 13 and SDG 2 by developing a climate change adaptation project in Somalia. I integrated climate risk assessments, aligned the project with Somalia’s NDCs, and promoted climate-smart agriculture to enhance food security. Additionally, I engaged stakeholders and conducted capacity-building sessions at the Ministry of Environment and Climate Change to mainstream climate adaptation. These efforts have strengthened climate resilience, improved policy alignment, and contributed to sustainable development.” – Learner from Somalia.

New Collaborations

UPU Learning Programme

In 2024, UN CC:Learn started collaborating with the Universal Postal Union (UPU) to support the greening of the postal sector through a series of three webinars and a dedicated three-day workshop.

Strengthening NDC Implementation with the NDC Partnership

UNITAR, as the Secretariat of UN CC:Learn, joined the NDC Partnership in 2019. This has led to many fruitful collaborations across the years, both at the global and the national level. Building on this engagement, UNITAR and the NDC Partnership joined forces to organize the Facilitators Exchanges, a series of workshops for NDC In-Country Facilitators to support them in co-creating solutions for key NDC implementation challenges.

Sports in Climate Action Training Package for NGOs

In 2024, UN CC:Learn partnered with UN Climate Change to highlight the role of sports in advancing climate action. A comprehensive learning needs assessment was carried out to inform the design and development of a dedicated training package, to be rolled-out in 2025.
