The Debrief, a new webinar initiative from UN CC:Learn facilitated by the Brazilian climate change advisor Marcelo Rocha, will reflect on the outcomes and trends of COP30 following its conclusion on 20 November 2025.

The 90-minute webinar will provide an engaging space for interested participants to discuss and understand key themes guided by a speaker who is on the ground at COP30 and directly involved in the talks and negotiations with international delegates.

Objectives and Target Audience

The webinar aims to:

  • Provide a quick, complete, and reliable overview of the outcomes of COP30 and discuss their implications.
  • Equip participants with insights and reference materials to take COP30 outcomes into account in their ongoing work/activities.
  • Discuss opportunities and challenges for advancing COP30 commitments in the lead-up to SB64, COP31, and beyond.

The target audiences of the webinar are:

  • Climate change negotiators, practitioners, and experts interested in a quick and concise overview of COP30 outcomes
  • Private sector stakeholders

Date & Time

The webinar will be offered twice, so you only need to book for one session. You can choose to attend Day 1 or Day 2.

Both sessions will be delivered in English through an online video conference platform.

Meet the Expert and Moderator

Dr Marcelo Rocha is the technical advisor for the Brazilian delegation at the UNFCCC for the Kyoto Protocol and Paris Agreement, and a co-chair of different negotiations working groups. As an advisor, his prior areas are: mitigation, NDC, carbon market, and REDD+. Working in the field of climate negotiations since 2003, Marcelo has a wealth of experience on greenhouse gases (GHG) inventories, national GHG inventories revisions, and the development of carbon policies. He has also contributed to IPCC scientific publications and delivered climate change diplomacy trainings.

Ms. Lisa Maina works with the Division for Planet at the United Nations Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR) based in Bonn, Germany and supports the implementation of UNITAR’s climate change portfolio at global and national levels through the One UN Climate Change Learning Partnership (UN CC:Learn). Originally from Kenya, she has almost 10 years of experience within the UN system. Her background is in climate change, environmental and wildlife conservation. Lisa has a master's in climate adaptation and bachelor's in geology.
