Climate Change, Conflict, and Cooperation : Global Analysis of the Resilience of International River Treaties to Increased Water Variability
This analytical document identifies allocation provisions and institutional mechanisms that can mitigate potential conflicts between basin States in the face of increasing water variability caused by climate change. It finds that climate change will potentially destabilize transboundary river basins, and outlines the linkages among climate change, water variability and security; identifies elements in treaty design that could reduce conflict; and assesses the resilience of treaties ratified between 1948 and 2001, examining the effect of institutional and allocation mechanisms under conditions of variability on cooperation and conflict over time.

Financing Recovery for Resilience – Enhancing the Coverage, Capitalization and Coherence of Pooled Financing Mechanisms for recovery to strengthen Synergies between Humanitarian, Development and climate Finance
This technical document focusses on the role of pooled financing mechanisms in strengthening synergies among humanitarian, development and climate finance provided to fragile and conflict-affected countries. It emphasizes that these three sources of finance are used to fund recovery efforts independently of each other, thus reducing recovery efforts’ effectiveness and increasing risks of financing gaps. Highlighting the valuable role pooled financing mechanisms can play in enhancing synergies among humanitarian, development and climate assistance, the report notes that those mechanisms are constrained by coverage, capitalization and coherence.

Seguridad Alimentaria, Desastres y Cambio Climático en la Región Andina
This visual aid maps climate, food security and disaster threats that will impede the sustainable development of communities in Bolivia, Colombia, Ecuador and Peru.
The Atlas is one outcome of the World Food Programme’s Vulnerability Assessment and Mapping (VAM) work, which focuses on food security. The Atlas can help policymakers identify areas most in need of disaster risk reduction (DRR) and prepare to mitigate the consequences of cimate-related disasters, according to WFP Regional Director Miguel Barreto.
