The Teachers

Sarah Gondy has been a Just Transition Officer for the ILO Directorate for Sustainable Enterprises since November 2020, where she works on the nexus between decent work and climate change. Prior to her current post, she worked for 7 years as a policy officer for the Directorate General for Trade of the European Commission, where she dealt with trade and responsible supply chains issues as well as EU trade relations with West Africa. She has developed a solid experience with developing and managing projects involving international organisations and other partners as well as coordinating multistakeholder sustainability initiatives. Sarah also worked in the public and private sectors as a legal and public affairs officer. She holds a Bachelor degree in Political Sciences and a Master’s degree in Law from Sciences Po Paris as well as a Master of Laws in European and International Law from the Portuguese Catholic University in Lisbon.

The Class

This class will introduce the concept of a Just Transition and related international instruments, offering practical insights through real-world examples. Participants will also explore the connections between decent work, Just Transition, and UN Climate Negotiations.
