I am currently working in the Monitoring and Evaluation Division of the Philippine Climate Change Commission. The first portfolio that I handle in the Division is on monitoring the Commission’s accomplishments and the course on CC 101 (Intro Course) helped understand and communicate to our stakeholders the milestones our office has done for the year.
I was also given the task by our previous Head of Office to support the Gender and Climate Change initiatives of Commission. My supervisor has given me task to provide technical support to the development of a gender-responsive NDC. The course on Gender and Climate Change helped understand the linkage between climate change and gender. I consider this Course as one of things that helped me in delivering the following Gender and Climate Change outputs since 2018: (1) Gender and Climate Change Audit of my Organization; (2) Technical Inputs to the NDC and its Gender Analysis; and (3) Philippine positions to Gender and Climate Change. All of these milestones have been reflected in our domestic online MRV portal: niccdies.climate.gov.ph. Lastly, I think the knowledge from the courses I learned in UN CC Learn helped in fulfilling my new task as one of National Gender Focal Point of the Philippines to the UNFCCC.
