Vice President of the Dominican Republic Launches National Training Programme Aimed at Strengthening Capacities to Integrate Climate Change into Education
In the presence of more than 100 national and international guests, H.E. Ms. Margarita Cedeño de Fernández, Vice President of the Dominican Republic launched the National Training Programme for Teachers on Climate Change Education for Sustainable Development.
The National Council for Climate Change and Clean Development Mechanism (CNCCMDL) of the Government of the Dominican Republic has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the National Teacher Training Institute (INAFOCAM) to develop a Training Programme on Climate Change for Teachers. This initiative is part of the UN CC:Learn Partnership.
A National Workshop for the UN CC:Learn Project to Strengthen Human Resources and Skills to Address Climate Change in the Dominican Republic took place on 7 February 2012 in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic and was organized by the National Climate Change Council (CNCCMDL) with support by UN CC:Learn.
The Dominican Republic’s National Council for Climate Change and the Clean Development Mechanism (CNCCMDL) organized a planning meeting with Government officials, the civil society, the private sector and UN organizations.
