  • Academia Meets in Bandung, Indonesia, to Ponder the Best Ways in which to Organise Knowledge for Climate Change

    The Indonesia National Council on Climate Change in collaboration with the Institute of Technology of Bandung organized a workshop on climate change knowledge management on February 11, 2014. The event was part of the implementation of the National Climate Change Learning Strategy of Indonesia. 160 participants took part in the workshop.

  • UN CC:Learn to Be Scaled Up Across Central America

    The eight Presidents of the Central America Integration System (SICA) have officially decided to scale-up the UN CC:Learn programme in the region. The Dominican Republic presented the results of their national UN CC:Learn project to SICA members who agreed on January 29th 2014 to work towards the implementation of similar activities in their countries.

  • Training for Climate Negotiators Organized in Benin

    Thirty negotiators from Benin were trained on the subject of climate change negotiation during a three day workshop in Ouidah. The event was organized by Ministry of Environment of Benin, in partnership with the Centre d’éducation à distance (CED-Benin) and the Institut de la Francophonie pour le Développement Durable (IFDD).

  • Indonesia Trains National and Sub-National Decision-Makers on REDD+

    The National Council on Climate Change (DNPI) and the Ministry of Forestry (MoF) of Indonesia organized a training workshop for decision-makers in Pontianak, West Kalimantan on 21-22 January 2014 to support the implementation of Reducing Emissions from Deforestation and Forest Degradation (REDD +).

  • Institute of Teachers Training and the National Council on Climate Change of the Dominican Republic Graduate 400 Teachers on Climate Change Programme

    The National Council for Climate Change and the Clean Development Mechanism (CNCCMD) and the National Institute of Education and Training of Teachers (INAFOCAM) invested on 1 November more than 400 teachers who completed the Programme of Education on Climate Change for Sustainable Development, designed by UNESCO, in the Jaragua Hotel.

  • Malawi Government Trains over 250 Frontline Forestry Personnel on Climate Change

    The Government of Malawi has, in the months of September and October 2013, trained 257 forestry assistants across the country in climate change, in an ongoing effort to enhance knowledge and skills in climate change management among key personnel in sectors that are threatened by climate change. 

  • Benin Government Builds Capacities to Access Climate Finance

    A four-day training was conducted in Bohicon, Benin for staff of the Ministry of Environment in charge of Climate Change Management, Reforestation, and Protection of Natural and Forest Resources and related organisations to strengthen capacities to access different climate change funding sources. Altogether 30 staff were trained. 

  • Malawi Launches its Climate Change Learning Strategy: Already 4 Million Primary School Girls and Boys Reached and 400 Workers Trained

  • Indonesia Takes an Important Step Forward on Climate Change Learning

    In front of a packed auditorium at the Kartika Chandra Hotel in Central Jakarta, the President of Indonesia’s Special Envoy on Climate Change, Dr. Rachmat Witoelar, launched the National Climate Change Learning Strategy. The event is part of the national UN CC: Learn pilot project. .
