COP-16 One UN Side Event on Capacity Building Features Successful Country-UN Partnerships to Foster Low-Emission and Climate-Resilient Development
What are good and illustrative case studies of effective capacity development supported by UN agencies that deliver results on climate change in Member States? This question was at the heart of the discussions at the One-UN COP-16 side event on Capacity Building as a Driver of Low-Emission, Climate-Resilient Development, 1 December 2010, Cancun, Mexico.
With support provided by the Swiss Development Cooperation CC:Learn will support three Pilot Projects on Strengthening Human Resources, Learning and Skills Development to Address Climate Change in 2011-2012. Countries interested in becoming a pilot project are invited to notify the CC:Learn Secretariat by 31 January 2011.

Capacity development and systematically strengthening the skills of individuals is a prerequisite for achieving other important climate change objectives, for example in the area of climate change financing and adaptation. This message was one of the key conclusions of the One UN COP-15 Side Event on Climate Change Capacity Development.
