UN CC:Learn Good Learning Practices from around the World
The UN CC:Learn programme has launched a new and dynamic platform to showcase good learning practices in the area of climate change. The platform aim to inspire climate change education and training activities around the world, and to identify concrete recommendations for effective learning action.
The good learning practices shine a spotlight on different country projects that have been implemented under the UN CC:Learn pilot phase, namely in Benin, the Dominican Republic, Indonesia, Malawi and Uganda. These projects demonstrate how countries can strengthen national capacities in delivering climate change education for school children, as well as support professional training on climate change as it relates to health, finance, forestry and other key sectors.
Each case example tells a story about the issue (what was the problem?), action taken (what was done to address the problem?) and impacts (what were the results?). The most interesting part for users might be the lessons learned sections which try to tease out experiences and recommendations that could be of interest to other countries/contexts. The case examples, which are available as downloadable pdfs are complemented with links to relevant materials and institutions.

UN CC:Learn is a partnership of 33 multilateral organizations which supports Member States in designing and implementing results-oriented and sustainable learning to address climate change. The Secretariat for UN CC:Learn is provided by UNITAR. An important aspect of UN CC:Learn is to support countries develop a National Climate Change Learning Strategy through a multi-sectoral and multi-stakeholder process. During the course of 2012-2013, Benin, the Dominican Republic, Indonesia, Malawi, and Uganda are participating as UN CC:Learn pilot countries. Funding for UN CC:Learn is provided by the Swiss Government.
