Online Climate Change Course Receives Registrations from All 195 Countries Party to the UNFCCC
In little more than 6 months the UN CC:Learn online Introductory Course on Climate Change has received close to 8000 registrations from all 195 countries that are party to the UNFCCC. The course offers an overview of key issues related to climate change, including the science, negotiations, adaptation, mitigation, finance and planning.

New UN CC:Learn Resource Guides Promote Advanced Learning on Climate Change & Health and on Climate Change Education
The UN CC:Learn Secretariat has launched a new Resource Guide for Advanced Learning on Understanding the Climate Change and Health Interface and a new Resource Guide for Advanced Learning on Integrating Climate Change in Education at Primary and Secondary Level.

“You are Not Alone” - Uganda Strengthens its Climate Change Desk Officer Network
7 August 2014, Kampala, Uganda. Uganda’s Climate Change Unit is investing in the national climate change desk officer network; a cross sectoral group of 40 individuals drawn from all branches of government, also including NGO and private sector representatives, with support from the UN CC:Learn programme.

Update on Indonesia REDD+ Training
Indonesia is moving forward with additional training on REDD+, following the a workshop organized through UN CC:Learn. As part of the project, existing Ministry of Forestry training materials were updated and translated. These will now be used for additional training events in the Kapuas Hulu district, West Kalimantan.

The UN CC:Learn Secretariat has launched two Resource Guides for those interested in gaining a more advanced understanding of the science of climate change. These documents are a Resource Guide for Advanced Learning on the Fundamentals of Climate Change Science and a The Dominican Republic’s UN CC:Learn Programme Leverages USD 1 Million in National Funds for Climate Change Teacher Training
The National Council on Climate Change and Clean Development Mechanism (CNCCMD) of the Dominican Republic has announced that the country will invest a further 1 million USD from the national budget in climate change training for teachers in 2014-2016. The training programme is based on a UN CC:Learn supported pilot phase.

UN CC:Learn e-Course Attracts 3,800 Participants in Three Months, Registrations Continue
More than 3,800 people from more than 150 countries (including 34 Least Developed Countries - LDCs) have registered for the UN CC:Learn Introductory e-Course on Climate Change (http://unccelearn.org/). Most participants are from Asia (30%), followed by Europe and Africa (26% and 22% of registrations respectively).
