  • Building Capacity for LDCs to Participate Effectively in Intergovernmental Climate Change Processes: Achievements 2014-2017

    This analytical document assesses the capacity building efforts dedicated to the Least Developed Countries. Decisions made at the Conference of the Parties of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change – such as those related to finance, adaptation, mitigation, technology, and capacity building – have major ramifications for LDCs. To ensure that the interests of LDCs are adequately and fairly reflected in the ongoing climate change negotiations, it is imperative that LDCs engage effectively in intergovernmental climate change negotiations, decision-making processes and eventual implementation of the decisions taken.

  • Cartographie des Flux Financiers Alignés à La REDD+ En Côte d'Ivoire

    This infographic shows public finance that went to activities that impact on land use in 2015 and that are therefore considered “relevant” in the context of Côte d’Ivoire’s National REDD+ Strategy. These sectors include agriculture, forestry, domestic energy, environment, mining, and planning policy.  The study identifies the nature and volume of domestic and international public finance that was already contributing to limiting deforestation and encouraging sustainable land use in the country in 2015. It provides a baseline against which to measure progress towards the levels of investment required to drive sustainable agriculture and reforestation. It also identifies opportunities to increase finance available for implementation of the National REDD+ Strategy.

  • Priority Needs for the Operationalization of the Global Framework for Climate Services (2016–2018)

    This analytical document highlights the identification of priority needs for operationalization of the Global Framework for Climate Services (GFCS), based on the foundations and context of the 10-year GFCS Implementation Plan.     This technical document provides an indicator-based framework for understanding the economic, social and nutritional contributions of inland capture fisheries and aquaculture and their links to available inland water resources. The framework proposes fourteen initial indicators to represent environmental, economic, social and nutritional dimensions that are based on their ability to be applicable to inland capture fisheries and aquaculture, and that are easy to interpret, robust and applicable at the national as well as regional or local scales.

  • Biomass Energy Service-based Rural Energy Entrepreneurship

  • Clear the Air for Children

    This guidance document looks at how children, particularly the most disadvantaged, are affected by air pollution. It points out that around 300 million children live in areas where the air is toxic – exceeding international limits by at least six times – and that children are uniquely vulnerable to air pollution, breathing faster than adults on average and taking in more air relative to their body weight. The document also notes that air pollution is a major contributing factor in the deaths of around 600,000 children under age 5 every year and threatens the health, lives and futures of millions more.
