UN CC:Learn in West Africa

Scaling-up Climate Change Education, Training and Awareness-Raising through a Regional Hub

Climate change aggravates the effects of population growth, food insecurity, poverty as well as gender inequality. West Africa and the Sahel are one of the most climate vulnerable regions in the world. Climate change learning is a crucial element in reducing countries' vulnerability and helping them to adapt. The UN CC:Learn Hub in West Africa aims to strengthen the knowledge and skills of current and future professionals (women and men) on climate change through a regional platform involving 13 countries from the Sahel - Benin, Burkina Faso, Cape Verde, Chad, Cote d'Ivoire, Gambia, Guinea, Guinea Bissau, Mali, Mauritania, Niger, Senegal, Togo.
