UN CC:Learn at COP25 of the UNFCCC

COP25 of the UNFCCC takes place from 2 to 13 December 2019, in Madrid, Spain. UN CC:Learn organizes and supports the following activities:

 

One UN Exhibit on Quality Education

This exhibition features climate change education activities promoted by UNESCO, UNITAR, and other UN agencies.

- Framework for Transformational Change
(Tuesday 10 December, 11.45 am,  SDG Pavilion, Hall 8)

- Adapting to Climate Change: The Case of Drought
(Wednesday 11 December, 12.30 pm, IPCC WMO Science Pavilion, Hall 6)

- Climate Services for Energy Transition
(Wednesday 11 December, 5.30 pm, IPCC WMO Science Pavilion, Hall 6)

 

An innovative learning initiative that provides busy delegates, full-time working professionals and decision-makers with quick climate change highlights in 45-minute pop-up style lessons.

The Climate Classroom is open to anyone participating in COP25 on a first-come-first-served basis. 

 

One UN Side Event on Climate Change Education - Learning for Climate Action: Implementing the Paris Agreement through Education, Training and Skills Development

Room 3

 

This event will discuss the fundamental role that education can play to support the implementation of the Paris Agreement. Representatives from the UN System, Governments, civil society, learning institutions, and youth will highlight the tangible contributions that learning, skills development and investment in climate-resilient education systems are making towards concrete and ambitious climate action and discuss opportunities to scale-up and enhance ambition.

High-level Event on Action for Climate Empowerment

10 December, 13:00-15:00

Room: Torres del Paine (Hall 4)

This event will bring together ministers of environment and education, as well as non-Party stakeholders, to discuss how to raise ambition and foster implementation of the Paris Agreement through education, training, public awareness, public participation, public access to information and international cooperation.
