4 November 2013. Climate change and the excessive use of scarce resources require a shift towards more sustainable development and greener economies. The promotion of green jobs is central to this transition. In order to promote knowledge-sharing in this area, the International Training Center (ITC) of the International Labour Organization (ILO) organizes an e-learning course titled Green Jobs for Sustainable Development: Concepts and Practices from 18 to 20 November 2013.
This course provides an introduction to key concepts and definitions of green jobs as well as to the ILO approach working towards sustainable development, through a review of tools and on-going practices.
The course targets representatives from Governments (labour, environment, planning, finance, etc.), social partners, national and international development agencies, civil society organizations and development practitioners interested in becoming familiar with the concept of green jobs and its linkage with the ILO agenda and the sustainable development framework.
The course is taught in English. The fee amounts to 650 EUR. To apply please click on the following web-link: http://intranetp.itcilo.org/STDRFFUND?coord_code=A976201&set_language=en
