Workshop on Adaptation for Asian Least Developped Countries

20 Aug 2013 - 24 Aug 2013
Siem Reap, Cambodia

This workshop provides technical guidance and advice to the Least Developed Countries (LDCs) in addressing adaptation to climate change through the National Adaptation Programmes of Action (NAPAs), the LDC work programme and the National Adaptation Plan (NAP) process, through the exchange of information, and the promotion of regional synergies and synergies with other conventions. It is preceded by a one-day preparatory meeting organized by the Secretariat of the Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD) on 19 August, to discuss, among other issues, integration of biodiversity and climate change adaptation at the national level, progress in revising and updating national biodiversity strategies and action plans (NBSAPs) and synergies in implementing the objectives of all three Rio Conventions at the national level. Participation of biodiversity experts in the UNFCCC workshop is facilitated through collaboration with the CBD Secretariat.
