This seminar provides a forum to exchange experiences and lessons learned on an integrated approach to the problem of sustainability for cities of the Latin America and the Caribbean. It consists of four parts: 1) review of the status of the Emerging Sustainable Cities Initiative, and lessons learned from its implementation in Montevideo, Trujillo, Santa Ana, Goiania and Port of Spain; 2) a session on climate change and cities; 3) a session on governance and climate change, with presentations by the mayors of Bilbao (Spain), Malmo (Sweden) and Rosario (Argentina); and a closing panel for discussion among panelists and participants.
