  1. Pathways to Climate Change Adaptation: The Case of Small Island Developing States

    This Massive Open Online Course (MOOC) provides an overview of climate change adaptation in Small Island Developing States (SIDS). The course looks at how each country can assess its specific vulnerabilities to climate change, and the tools available for protecting the well-being, economy, and environment of its citizens.  At the end of the course participants will be able to:

    Explain why countries will have to adapt to climate change and provide examples of what this could look like
    Explain why Small Island Developing States (SIDS) are particularly vulnerable to climate change.
    Outline how to analyse climate risks and discuss why some countries are more vulnerable than others.
    Discuss how adaptation can contribute to sustainable development goals.

  2. Massive Open Online Course - Disasters and Ecosystems: Resilience in a Changing Climate

    This MOOC enhances knowledge and skills for tackling complex issues such as resilience and transformation, sustainable development, ecosystem management, disaster risk reduction, climate change adaptation and how they can be operationalized. It will benefit disaster managers and practitioners, climate change adaptation professionals, development planners, project implementers and policy makers. The course will be delivered through a series of lectures and case studies, quizzes, peer-reviewed exercises, along with additional study materials provided to the students. Lectures will be available through videos as well as online documents and will be geared for students who may not have access to high speed internet so they can follow the course. Students will be provided the opportunity to enhance their critical thinking through real life and fictitious problem solving exercises. Each week will feature an international expert who will be available to respond to questions and interact with students.

  6. Climate Change Education and Training for Children, Youth and Adults: How to Make a Difference

The three cases will be personal accounts of significant and tangible results that were achieved through learning and skills development.

    Cette formation a pour but de renforcer les capacités des décideurs locaux et planificateurs urbains et de transport à formuler et mettre en œuvre des politiques de transport durables dans les pays en voie de développement. Il offre une analyse des enjeux importants sur la mobilité durable, notamment la gestion de la demande en transport, l'amélioration des transports publics et non-motorisés, la protection de l'environnement, la sécurité routière et la parité des genres dans les transports. Les émissions de CO2 issues du secteur des transports représentent environ 23% des émissions totales d'origine humaine dans le monde. Le secteur des transports constitue donc l'un des secteurs ciblés pour des interventions publiques de réduction des émissions de CO2 et pour des mesures d'adaptation afin de réduire la vulnérabilité aux changements climatiques. Cette formation offre aux décideurs locaux et professionnels les outils nécessaires pour mettre en place ces mesures.

    This training programme covers a range of issues on sustainability and adaptation to climate and ecosystems change.
