  1. Central Asia Climate Knowledge Forum

    This forum  will bring together policy-makers and practitioners from Central Asian governments (Ministries of Environment, Economy, and Finance), external experts, national and regional learning institutions, universities, civil society organizations, development partners, organizations as well as other stakeholders interested in climate resilient development. About 100 participants are expected to attend the Forum. The event will include a high-level roundtable – National and Regional Climate Resilience Program Design for Central Asia – among policy makers from Central Asian countries and development partners.

  2. UNEP Third International Climate Change Adaptation Conference

  3. Webinar on New Carbon Accounting Methodology for Sustainable Grassland Management

    This webinar will introduce stakeholders to the new Verified Carbon Standard (VCS) carbon accounting methodology for sustainable grassland management.The methodology was developed by FAO , the Chinese Academy of Agriculture Science (CAAS), ICRAF, and the Northwest Institute of Plateau Biology, to quantify emission reductions from a range of practices, including improved grazing management, to restore degraded grasslands.

  6. Developing Capacities on Climate Change Adaptation and Disaster Risk Reduction in the Asia-Pacific Region

  10. City Creditworthiness Academy

    This workshop aims to discuss ways to improve municipal finances and access to capital to achieve low-carbon development, and the need for a “climate lens” in developing capital investment plans. Participants include mayors, city officials and technical experts representing 15 cities and provinces from 12 countries across Asia. It will help officials from subnational governments and public enterprises to develop an action plan to improve their creditworthiness and access to finance for climate-related infrastructure. A broader City Creditworthiness Program will assist cities in implementing the action plan.

  11. High-Level Workshop on National Adaptation Plan Development in Africa

    This workshop has for objective: improving the understanding of the National Adaptation Plans (NAPs) process; taking stock of the existing guidance, tools and methods relevant to developing NAPs; assessing countries' current progress on their respective NAP processes; exchanging lessons learned and experiences; and exchanging information on the mechanisms and options for financing NAPs. Ministers also learned about the support available through National Adaptation Plan-Gobal Support Programme (NAP-GSP) and its partners, such as the Global Water Partnership (GWP) and the Global Environment Facility (GEF), for assisting their countries in the NAP process.

  19. Food Security and Climate Change in Viet Nam, Malawi and Zambia

    This online discussion, called The future of food Security and climate Change in Viet Nam, Malawi and Zambia: scenarios, outlooks and challenges in the next 30 years aims at exploring the current, foreseeable and likely relationships between climate change adaptation, climate change mitigation and food security in the three countries and has been set up by FAO’s Economics and Policy Innovations for Climate-Smart Agriculture (EPIC) programme in collaboration with the CGIAR programme on Climate Change, and Agriculture and Food Security (CCAFS) and with support from the European Commission. The discussion aims to engage in a constructive dialogue everyone interested in climate change and food security with a specific interest and competence on Malawi, Zambia and/or Viet Nam.
