This course aims to assist participants to plan, design and implement policy instruments to help countries advance into a low emissions development (LED) path. It offers an overview of LED policy instruments and provides individual lessons on the design and implementation of specific policy approaches, enriched with examples of how these instruments have been implemented worldwide. The course finalizes by providing policy diagnosis tools and strategic guidance for policy implementation. The diagnosis tools can help countries to identify and select policy instruments suitable to their specific needs. To facilitate learning, in-depth policy case studies provide participants with the opportunity to identify how policy instruments may be designed and implemented in practice.
