8 June 2012. Renewable energy and energy efficiency technologies are essential elements of low carbon development strategies. In order to discuss effective promotion and diffusion of these technologies, the World Bank Institute's Climate Change Practice (WBICC) organizes a webinar on Achieving Low Carbon Growth: From Innovation to Market Expansion, on 12 June 2012, 10:00 AM EST.
In this webinar, Dr. Daniel M. Kammen, Professor of Energy Policy at the University of California, Berkeley and former World Bank Chief Technical Specialist for Sustainable Energy, explores a range of policy instruments used to support the deployment of renewable energy and energy efficiency technologies across the world. By means of examples, Dr. Kammen stresses the importance of smart analysis and energy systems modeling tools, which are essential for planning and decision-making. He will also invite participants to share their views and experiences on energy and policy design.
The event will be held in English and is part of a webinar series on Promoting Innovation for Green Growth, which focuses on innovation for green growth and how policy can foster a transformation in our energy systems. Registration is open on the WBI website.
